We had a jam-packed weekend full of all the quintessential Labor Day weekend activities. I wanted to make sure we gave this summer a deserving send off. We kicked off the weekend with a trip to my best friend’s lake house at Lake Winola. Two days of boat rides, swimming, kayaking, tubing, reading on the dock and day drinking helped firm up my decision that at some point in my life I will have a waterfront home. It’s the best medicine to feel relaxed and at one with nature. Add fun friends and your life is complete. I woke up on Sunday with sun-kissed skin and sore cheeks from laughing so hard.
Sunday afternoon we hit up the outlets for some “back to school “shopping – the only good thing about summer turning into fall. I’m not like most people, I don’t instantly turn to mush over pumpkins, mums, leaves, and football. I’ll choose sundresses and bathing suits over boots and scarves any day!
Monday we had other good friends over for a bbq.
We stuffed ourselves with a wide assortment of food and drink. I think we were all ready for a naps after conquering the mass buffet we assembled. And of course we hoped our lounging outside and being able to imbibe in rum punch on a Monday afternoon would postpone having to go back to work. The next day off from work will be 3 months from now during Thanksgiving. Ew!
